Welcome & Hospitality Ministry of Saint Pius X
Dear Lord, Give us eyes to see the deepest needs of all people. Give us hearts full of love for our neighbor as well as for the strangers we
meet. Help us understand what it means to love others as we love ourselves. May we remember to listen, to smile, to offer a helping hand each time the opportunity presents itself. Help us to be welcoming and inclusive to all who come to our door. Let us be God’s hospitality in the world!

The mission of the Welcome & Hospitality Ministry is to
foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere whereby
each member of our faith community feels valued and
at home here at St Pius.

SPX Café/Baking Ministry – Coordinates bakers for weekend Masses through Sign-Up Genius. It also includes overseeing volunteer coverage in setting up, replenishing baked goods as well as cleaning up after each Mass.
Name Tag Sundays – Periodically distributes nametags in order to recognize and call each other by name. This is especially helpful at the New Parishioner’s Welcome.
SPX Table at OT Town Day- Volunteers serve as greeters and have available
information about SPX to hand out while hosting our parish table at Town Day.
New Parishioner’s Welcome – Upon registration, a message of welcome is sent to newly registered families. This is followed up with an evite to a Welcome Mass. A reception is held in the Narthex to meet and greet the new parishioners after the mass.
Soup and Beyond Ministry – Hosts three events for the SPX seniors. They include a St Patty’s/ St Joseph Day luncheon, a summer ice cream social and a fall luncheon.
Repast Ministry – A reception in the Narthex, provided by the family of the deceased, is held immediately after the funeral Mass. This ministry helps set up, serve the family and clean up. When there is a burial following the Mass, families usually host a repast at a restaurant and do not return to SPX.
St Pius X Parish is grateful to all who help in creating a warm and
welcoming atmosphere. You are the instruments who continue to
build community and are God’s hospitality here at St Pius.
Please reach out to the SPX office to volunteer a small amount of your time to serve on any of the above ministries. Call 201-664-0913 or email spxot.org
