Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a sacred season of repentance, prayer, and fasting. It is a time to turn our hearts back to God and prepare for the joy of Easter.
As a sign of our commitment to conversion, we receive ashes on our foreheads, reminding us of our mortality and the call to repentance.
