The Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima was welcomed in the Archdiocese of Newark by 21 parishes and the Newman Catholic Center at Montclair State University. The Archdiocese of Newark is home to more than 1.2 million Catholics living in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties.
The pilgrimage of the Statue of Fatima is drawing to a close and the closing Mass and devotions will be held at St. Pius X Church in Old Tappan on Saturday, June 10, beginning at 4:30 pm with a Mass celebrated by Most Reverend Michael A. Saporito, D.D., V.G., Regional Bishop of Bergen County and Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Newark. The Mass will be concelebrated by Reverend Kevin M. Kilgore, Pastor of St. Pius X Church.
All who have been able to be in the presence of the Pilgrim Statue of Fatima during this visit owe a debt of gratitude to Ricardo Casimiro, for fulfilling his dream in bringing the Pilgrim Statue to the Archdiocese of Newark. "Her presence here reminds us that we're never alone. Our Lady is always with us in our suffering and our moments of joy. So, visiting the statue is a chance to renew our faith and find hope for the future." Ricardo, who is a Campus Minister at Montclair State University, has been traveling to each of the parishes receiving the statue, and at several, has offered inspired lectures and catechesis. Ricardo received the Shrine of Fatima's Centennial Medal in 2017 due to his commitment to Our Lady.

Synod on Synodality
Pope Francis has issued an invitation to the global Church to gather in prayer, listening and discernment to forge the future of the Church for the twenty-first century.
Earlier this year parishioners of St. Pius X gathered and participated in listening and sharing with the goal of finding ways to connect the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ and the Church to our everyday lives.
